GAMES AND SPORT

The College offers facilities of physical exercises to its students through games like Foot-ball, Volley-ball, Cricket, Kabadi and encourages participation in athletics at the Annual Sports Meet. The College is affiliated with the Calcutta University Sports Board and participates in Inter College Competitions, conducted by the University Sports Board, DPI, Govt. of West Bengal. There is a big playground, larger than the average, for outdoor games, particularly football, volleyball and cricket. A reputed 'A' division football player has been appointed by the college to coach the football players in the college play ground.

 

16 STATION MULTIGYM

As for the indoor games, notables are 16 station multi-gym, loger and table tennis apart from carrom boards and chess.

Students can avail of the Gym facilities by paying a nominal monthly subscription of Rs. 20/- to the College. An instructor appointed by the College will guide the students in the use of the Gymnasium.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

An N.S.S. unit approved by the Calcutta University is functioning in the college. College students, both male and female, may take up NSS as one of the co-curricular programmes conducted under the guidance of a Programme Officer who is also a member of the teaching staff. Extension activities in the college are taken up through NSS unit. Teachers and students participate in various activities like community development health and hygiene awareness. AIDS awareness, blood donation camp, environmental awareness, awareness on drug abuse, tree plantation, free medical check up and campus cleaning programmes are arranged. The NAAC team appreciated the extension activities of the NSS.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS

An N.C.C. unit of 2nd Bengal Battalion has started functioning under the guidance of a competent teacher officer.
